Next, ice crystals develop. The meat will get so cold that it will become icy, retaining the beneficial nutrients and minerals that your dog’s body needs.
As the temperature of the meat is raised, these ice crystals are allowed to grow to rid the meat of moisture in the next freeze-drying phases.
In the primary drying phase, the pressure is lowered and heat is added in a vacuum process to remove about 95% of the water from the meat. The secondary phase absorbs all excess moisture and brings the meat to its porous structure. It’s then immediately packaged to keep the raw treats fresh for your pet.
